Rochester, Mich. (July 28, 2005) ???C Oakland University???s athletics department has added a new member to its ranks with the announcement of
Anne Williams as the department???s new compliance assistant. In her position she will help to track Oakland's student-athlete's eligibility as well as assisting with ensuring the department???s compliance with NCAA, Mid-Con and Oakland rules and regulations. Williams, who is currently pursuing her Master???s degree in sport administration, is already familiar with the department after spending part of the 2004-05 school year serving as an intern in the Golden Grizzly compliance office. She is also currently involved as an assistant swim coach for the Birmingham Blue Dolphins. A 2003 graduate if Indiana University with a degree in secondary education/mathematics, Williams swam for four years on the Hoosier swimming and diving team. She captained the 2003 team that won the Big 10 championship and was a two-time honorable mention All-American and a two-time academic All-American. She was also a qualifier for the 2000 Olympic Trials. Williams is a 1999 graduate of Seaholm High School in Birmingham, Michigan where she was a two-time state champion and captain of the swim team as a senior.
