(Apr. 15, 2005) - Business has been booming for the Grizz Store since Oakland won the men's basketball Mid-Continent Conference Tournament and the NCAA opening-round game against Alabama A&M in early March, kicking off March Madness across the country. The Grizz Store has done more business in the past few weeks than it typically does in two seasons combined, selling more than 2,500 championship apparel items in the past three weeks alone. The Grizz Store also has conducted more Internet sales in the past few weeks than it has altogether since it began operating an Internet store. In addition to large quantities of championship apparel sales, a number of regular merchandise items also have been selling. ???This has been an amazing experience,??? said Denise McGee, assistant athletic director. ???We have received merchandise orders from all over the country, and alumni orders have been huge. The NCAA Tournament gave Oakland so much exposure. We are still receiving orders for championship merchandise on a daily basis."
