Rochester, Mich. (Dec. 2, 2005) - Oakland University Golden Grizzly athletic gear will hit the OU Bookstore shelves just in time for the holiday shopping rush. The university entered into an agreement with Barnes and Noble to sell Grizzly merchandise in its Oakland Center location. The OU Bookstore also will have a kiosk at all Oakland University basketball games where merchandise will be sold. ???I think this is the best thing that has happened for Oakland University Athletics fans,??? said Debbie Ogg, manager of the bookstore. ???The merchandise is more accessible and it???s going to get the school name and logo out into the public.??? In addition, the OU Bookstore will begin offering Grizzly gear on its Web site making it accessible to fans globally. Golden Grizzly merchandise is expected to begin arriving in the OU Bookstore within the next two weeks and the kiosk will be open for business during the men???s basketball game against St. Louis on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 6 p.m. The Grizz Store in the Recreation and Athletics Center and Grizz Outlet in Vandenberg Hall have closed. The Oakland University Bookstore is located in the lower level of the Oakland Center at the north end of the building. The store is open Monday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call the bookstore at (248) 370-2404.
