Rochester, Mich. (Aug. 30, 2004) ???C Oakland University???s athletics department added a new staff member to its ranks today, naming Rebecca Vick as the department???s assistant sports information director. She will be directly responsible for handling the sports information duties for men???s and women???s soccer, women???s basketball and baseball. A native of New Port Richey, Florida, Vick spent the last two years as the Director of Media Relations at Western Carolina University where she was responsible for covering 11 different sports for the Catamounts and headed the Communications/Professional Development Committee. A former resident of Rochester Hills, Michigan, Vick has also served as a communications intern at Tallahassee Community College in Florida and as a student intern in the sports information office at Florida State. Vick is a graduate of Florida State University where she earned a bachelor???s degree in 1999 in communication and a master???s degree in 2002 in sport administration.
