Kristie Kieffer (Sterling Heights, Mich.) are this week???s winners after both took home individual honors at the Mel Brodt Invitational last weekend. It was the second athlete of the week for each this season and the second straight for Kieffer. Frezza, who has been OU???s top finisher for the men in all three races so far this season, won his first individual title of the season after finishing second in the first two contests this season. His time of 25:08 over the 8K course in Bowling Green, Ohio set a new PR by eight seconds and is the best in the conference this season. Kieffer dominated the field at Bowling Green, running a 17:39 over the 5K course that was a new Oakland school record. She beat the second-place runner, teammate Melissa Nasers (Battle Creek, Mich.) by 23 seconds. It was the sixth career individual title for Kieffer. She and Nasers have combined to take the 1-2 spots in each of the Golden Grizzlies three races this year. Both teams will be in action again on Friday, when they run in the Spartan Invitational in East Lansing, Mich.
