OU's Judd and Buddenborg Honored For Academic Excellence

The Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan (BCAM) has selected its annual Academic/Athletic honor teams for men's and women's basketball players and coaches. Among the five selected for each squad, seniors Brad Buddenborg (Garden City/Garden City) and Sarah Judd (Eastpointe/Harper Woods Regina) were honored. Buddenborg averaged 13 points per game, four rebounds per game and two steals per game in his fifth year at Oakland. He was named to the All-Mid-Continent Conference second team for the second time in his career. In the classroom, Buddenborg has a 3.35 GPA while majoring in elementary education in the universities college of Arts & Sciences. Judd has excelled in the classroom, in the community and on the basketball court during her four years at OU. The 5'11 senior had her best season in a Grizzly uniform, scoring 20.1 ppg (20th in D-I), 8.3 rpg and 2.4 bpg (15th in D-I). She finished fifth in the nation converting on a school best 91.2 percent of her free throws (125-137). Judd set a Mid-Con tournament record tallying 38 points in the championship game versus Valparaiso en route to being named tournament MVP. She was a all-tournament selection for the second straight year and earlier was named Mid-Con Player of the Year (Media) and All-Mid-Con first team for the third straight season. After a great season on the court, she maintained her excellence off the court accumulating a 3.2 GPA in general studies. Sarah has also found time to give back to her community. She is part of the BLOCK program at a local elementary school and has helped with Special Olympics.
