Elmhurst, Ill. ???C Sophomore Melissa Nasers (Battle Creek, Mich.) was named the Mid-Continent Conference???s female Athlete of the Week in cross country the conference office announced today. Nasers was the top finisher for the Golden Grizzlies on Saturday at the Asics/Pacesetter Pre-Nationals at Indiana State, finishing 16th out of 275 runners at the prestigious meet. Her time of 22:00.5 over the 6K course bettered her previous best this season over the distance by almost a minute and is the fastest time in the Mid-Con this season over the 6K distance.
