Golden Grizzlies fans will get a first look at their 2002-03 OU men's and women's basketball teams during this seasons Midnight Madness at the 'O'rena. The party will kick off at 11:00 p.m., this Friday, with the doors opening at 10:15 p.m. Admission is free for students and fans who will get their fill of free T-shirts, giveaways, cash and prizes. The party will include two laser light shows, a slam dunk contest and the introduction of the Oakland men's and women's basketball teams. Pepsi, 93.1 DRQ, 98 WJLB, the Oakland Book Store and Division of Student Affairs will sponsor the event. The first 1,000 people through the door will receive a free T-shirt, provided by OU Student Congress. The night will conclude with a FREE TUITION raffle, sponsored by Oakland President, Dr. Gary Russi. Two students, male and female, will be randomly selected to receive free tuition for the winter semester. The women's basketball team, led by head coach Beckie Francis, will be introduced at midnight. The Golden Grizzlies are coming off their best season in which they reached the NCAA Tournament. Greg Kampe, will be introduced immediately following the women. With a new team makeup, Oakland will be in the hunt for the Mid-Con title.
