The Oakland University men's and women's swimming and diving teams traveled to Kenyon College Friday, January 11 and defeated KC 130-93 and 137-94, respectively. The men's team improves to 3-2 and the women's team goes to 4-1. Leading the men's squad was freshmen Tim Johnson and Chris Sullivan each with two first place finishes. Johnson finished first in the 200 free (1:42.22) and first in the 500 free (4:41.69), while Sullivan placed first in the 50 free (21.17) and 100 yard freestyle with a time of 46.90. Rounding out OU's first place finishers was senior Mark Quinn as he placed first in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:06.26. Individually for the women junior Danielle Ward and sophomores Tanya Korniyenko and Oksana Strelets notched two first place finishes. Ward recorded OU's first top finish as she finished the 200 free with a time of 1:55.51. Ward's second top finish came in the 500 free as she finished with a time of 5:09.66. Korniyenko collected first place finishes in the 200 IM (2:10.88) and the 200 butterfly (2:06.12), while fellow sophomore Strelets recorded top finishes in the 50 free (24.32) and the 100 free (53.09). Rounding out the top finishes on the women's squad was Shelley Aurit as she was first in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:25.21. Both the men's and women's teams will be in action on Friday, January 18 as the men host Michigan State and the women travel to Oxford, Ohio to battle Miami of Ohio. Action will begin at 4 p.m. at both locations
