The Oakland University men's and women's cross country teams open the 2001 season this Saturday, September 1, in Rochester. The Golden Grizzlies will host the 2nd Annual Motor City Classic Cross Country Invitational on the campus of OU. The race will take place on the Adams Trails Cross Country Course on the east side of campus. The women's 5K race will begin at 9 a.m. and the men's four-mile race will start at 9:45 a.m. The Oakland women's team is set to defend their Motor City Classic title on Saturday morning and the Wayne State men's team will try the same in the second race. OU men finished second in 2000.
