Oakland University Athletic Director Jack Mehl announced today the hiring of Daniel Jaroshewich to the position of Interim Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing. Jaroshewich replaces Barry Neuberger, who resigned to take a position with Action Sports Media in May. "I'm very excited to be joining the staff at OU and I'm happy to be working in a family-oriented atmosphere," Jaroshewich said. "This is something that I've been associated with for the past 28 years of my life." Jaroshewich comes to Oakland from the NFL Detroit Lions where he has been employed since 1973. He served the Lions from 1980-2001. With Detroit, Jaroshewich was responsible for contracts with manufacturers, player endorsement contracts with major equipment manufacturers and training employees. Jaroshewich graduated in 1977 from the University of Detroit with a bachelor's degree in business and administration. He went on to receive a masters in business and administration from Wayne State University in 1979. In addition to his duties with the Lions, Jaroshewich is the president of the Detroit Lion Courage House for Battered Women, is a board member of both the Kolo Charities and the Russ Thomas Scholarship Fund. He is president and founder of the Troy Youth Hockey Association and a member of District 3 Council for Michigan Amateur Hockey. Jaroshewich is the chairman of a major annual fundraiser for Notre Dame Prep and Marist Academy and is a member of the Capital Fund Committee for Notre Dame Prep and Marist Academy.
