ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Oakland Swimming and Diving teams officially kick off the 2023 season at home in a back-to-back meet stint between the Black and Gold Intrasquad meet on Friday at 6:30 pm and the 40th Annual Ray Miller Alumni meet on Saturday at 3:00 pm; both of which are taking place at the Oakland Aquatic Center with no cost to entry.
After competing in their preseason match-up against Wayne State, Oakland is primed for this regular season meet weekend to dive into the season.

New On the Pool Deck
The Golden Grizzlies are excited to be bringing in some new faces to the squad this year including fifteen incoming athletes from a range of first-years to transfers. Those include Alex Lakin, Joey Countryman, Carson Ricker, Max Haney, Andrew Gelston, Dane Charleston, Auben Nuget, Sean Diffenderfer, Casey Sanders, Ari Rice, Clarissa Bezuidenhout, Jordyn VerHaeghe, Ava McNamara, Maria Kristjansfottir, and Delaney Buckner; all with extensive athletic careers in the pool leading up to this year.
The More You Know
Last season, Oakland continued the legacy and secured the Horizon League title as reigning champions for the 45th consecutive year for the men's team, and the 29th consecutive year for the women's team. Going into this season, the team holds a standard of excellence with new head coach and Oakland Alumni Mitch Alters, along with new assistant Molly Hebzynski from the University of Northern Colorado, both with extensive backgrounds and expertise in their careers.
