Men's Golf Adds To 2024-25 Roster

ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Oakland men's golf team has officially signed Peter Roehl for the 2024-25 season.

Roehl is a local athlete from the city of Rochester Hills, Michigan, and will be competing with the Golden Grizzlies starting in the fall season of 2024. With Oakland's combination of NCAA Division 1 level competition, academics, and location, Roehl decided to make this place his home to continue his athletic and academic career.

The Rochester Adam's product was named to All-State Super Team in 2023, as well as the All-County Dream team in the same year. Alongside these accomplishments, he was a key piece of his golf team that won the regional championships in 2022 and 2023, to pair with being the individual state and regional champion in 2023, respectively.

Additionally, Roehl has a scoring average of 72.2 on the green, and has competed in the American Junior Golf Association, as well as the Golf Association of Michigan.

"I'm excited to be adding Peter to the Golden Grizzlies family. Peter is a local player who I've been able to keep my eye on for a long time. His game has dramatically improved in a short amount of time which culminated into him becoming one of the best players in Michigan! Not only does Peter line up with our golf expectations, he's a great student and demonstrates what BEAR mentality is all about!" said head coach Nick Pumford on Peter's commitment to Oakland.
