INDIANAPOLIS - Erika Polidori has been named the Horizon League Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 4-10 announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. In its opening weekend of the 2014 season, Oakland traveled to Georgia to compete in the Georgia Southern Tournament. On Friday, Oakland defeated Northern Colorado 5-0 but fell to Georgia Southern 11-0. In rematches against both teams Saturday, Oakland was unable to collect victories in either game. The team finished out the weekend falling to No. 1 Tennessee.

Despite a 1-4 record to begin the season, Polidori led the Golden Grizzlies at the plate over the five-game stretch, recording zero strikeouts in the opening weekend. She batted .438, collected seven hits, six RBIs and a .500 on-base percentage. While hitting in the leadoff position for Oakland, Polidori had a .813 slugging percentage recording three doubles and a home run.

Oakland enjoys some time off before traveling to ETSU on Feb. 22-23 to kick off its spring trip.
