ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Oakland University softball team will close out the home portion of the season, Tuesday, May 3 against Toledo. The doubleheader is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
The Golden Grizzlies (14-27) are led by sophomore Erin Galloway and junior Kelsey Krych. Galloway has 11 doubles, scored 12 runs, driven in 20 runs and is batting .331. Krych has scored 22 runs, driven in nine runs and is hitting .291. She is second in the league and is 43rd in NCAA Division I with 21 stolen bases. Krych is also tied for sixth all-time in The Summit League with 64 stolen bases.
Junior Kylie Schalz has five doubles, a triple and four home runs, scored 13 runs and driven in a team-high 26 runs while batting .275. Freshman Erika Polidori has 10 doubles, one triple and three home runs, scored 27 runs, driven in 18 runs and is hitting .344. She recently had a 13-game hitting streak, third longest in school history.
In the circle, senior Marisa Everitt is 6-8 with 92 strikeouts and a3.04 earned run average in 94.1 innings of work. Against Western Illinois on March 12, she struck out 13 batters, the third highest total in school history.
TOLEDO (8-35)
The Rockets, who lead the series 7-6, are led by Lindsey Tobias and Erinn Wright. Tobias has six doubles and seven home runs, scored 20 runs, driven in 26 runs and is batting .339 while Wright has five doubles and three home runs, scored 14 runs and is hitting .299.
