Rochester, Mich. (Dec. 12, 2003) - Oakland University women???s soccer player Lisa-Marie Woods (Oslo, Norway) has been named to the NSCAA/adidas Great Lakes All-Region team, the committee announced Thursday. The teams, which were selected by coaches of the Great Lakes region, consisted of only three freshmen as Woods represented Oakland on the third team. As Mid-Con???s Newcomer of the Year in 2003 and a first-team All-Mid-Con representative, Woods enjoyed a successful season as a freshman. Throughout the year, she generated six goals and garnered seven assists to finish third on the team in scoring with 19 points. Woods played an integral role in one of the most successful seasons Oakland has played in its ten year history. The team finished with a 15-5-1 record winning their fourth consecutive Mid-Con Championship as well as the regular season title to represent the Mid-Con at the NCAA College Cup for the third year in a row.
